Unum was founded in 2015 as a deep-tech private research lab focused on designing next-generation Artificial Intelligence. As with all of science, it’s a race, and you can’t win by using the same engine as everyone else. So we are continuously rewriting the whole computing infrastructure to make analyzing Petabytes of data cheaper and faster than ever before!

Our software stack is a fun mix of C++ 20, CUDA 17, x86 and ARM assembly, with a pinch of Python on top. Readiness to work with bare metal and fundamental research in theoretical Computer Science helped us design the fastest persistent DBMS, some of the fastest BLAS kernels, compression and encryption schemas, string and vector search algorithms among other things.
